Jack is hilarious! John and I are having so much fun raising this little boy. Jack started eating Graduate Puffs. He struggles with making them into his mouth. He usually gets frustrated and cries. John decided to have some fun and created this wonderful masterpiece....

Halloween 2010

Jack is a monkey for Halloween this year. We have had a fun weekend. On Thursday, Jack came to school (well daddy brought him) for the Kindergarten Halloween parade. He had fun hanging out with the Kinder kids.

Yes!! That's me with the blue hair. I was Thing 1 and my partner Maria Elena was Thing 2. The kids got a kick out of us dressing up.

We went to dinner after school with Maria Elena and then to her house to hang out.

Friday was fun because Jack and I slept for about 4 hours! It was AWESOME!!! Then we went to Grandma Carol's house and picked her up to go with us to the Springs Preserve with Lyndsy and her family.

Saturday started out with lots of sleep but then we went to PaPa Dana's house for Uncle Kevin's b-day party. KK and Jack had a great time hanging out with family.

Jack can roll over!!!! July 4, 2010!!

He started rolling over in the nursery at church on July 4, 2010. Thank goodness I was there and watched the entire event! It took me an entire week of video taping him to get it on video. Now he pretty much does it immediately after laying him on his back. He is growing so fast!

Jack's Birth!

I went to Dr. Swainston on Thursday, February 25, 2010. Swainston was not in the office so I saw Nurse Jane. My blood pressure was high and so she wanted to see me back on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 4pm. She also stated that if I have any issues, over the weekend, that I was to go to the hospital right away. On Friday the 26th, it was the 100th day of Kindergarten. I sat most of the day but still had a crazy day. On Saturday, I slept the entire day about 19 hours straight. I woke up and was feeling weird. I had a headache and decided to go to the hospital about 3p. They checked my blood pressure and monitored me and baby Jack for about 4 hours. My doctor decided to let me go home but I was on STRICT bedrest! NO walking at all. I was suppose to stay IN BED! On Monday, I waited all day to go to the doctor at 4pm. I got there and they took my blood pressure twice. It was 190/60...YIKES! I also had an anatomy scan. I got to see baby Jack and they took his picture and measured him. He still had 2 weeks but was already about 7 pounds. So, Dr. Swainston comes in and starts talking about sometimes they induce due to the size of babies. He asked what my blood pressure was and after the nurse told him, he said "it is time!" They called Summerlin Hospital and they couldn't get me in on the 2nd. However, they had a bed ready to go at 10pm that night. So, we booked it! LOL! We went to eat and then went home to wait. We started to pack the car and I handed the camera to John (daddy) and he locked his keys in the trunk of his car. Thank goodness the doors were not locked!! So, we got to the hospital and they hooked me up to the monitors and started the Cervidel by 11pm. This was suppose to stay in for 12 hours and then they would start the Pitocin. Well about 3:30am, I started having contractions. They just got stronger and stronger. At 7am, the nurse checked me and I was approximately 4 cm. They gave me some pain killers and ordered the Epidural. I was scared of the Epidural but it wasn't bad at all. About 8am, the pain was gone. Then we played the waiting game! About 2pm my epidural started to wear off. So they came and gave me more meds. Around 3pm, she checked me and I was 7 cm. She said that I still had awhile. However, my contractions had become irregular. This is when they decided to give me a small dose of Pitocin. They started that about 4pm. Everything was going great. My nurse had to go deliver another baby and so I had a nurse that was just watching me. I called the desk around 4:30pm because I felt like I had to POOP! Seriously had to POOP! So, she came in and checked me and I was 9 cm. She told me not to push until 10 cm. I called again about 5:15pm and told her I was having a ton of pressure. She came in and sure enough, we were ready to go! There were 3 other ladies giving birth at the same time. She had me start pushing until his head was starting to crown. She called Dr. Swainston and he helped me finish giving birth to my sweet boy.

Jack Andrew was born at 5:53pm after pushing for about 35 minutes!

2009 was a horrible year!

2009 started off great. We went to Mexico on a cruise and spent way too much on pampering ourselves! In April, Jenna, my sister, got married.

On April 23, 2010, we were at a friend's house helping them move. I missed a phone call from my mom. So, I went into the office of my friend's house to call her back. This is when my mom asked me if I was sitting down because she had something important to tell me. She said that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. My heart dropped into my tummy. She followed it up with...."If it is my time to go, then I am ready to meet Jesus." I gave her so much crap for saying that in the same sentence as having told me she was sick. I know now that she knew her days were very numbered. May was a hard month of tests for her and then Memorial weekend she went to ER and was admitted. She couldn't eat and was feeling very sick. The doctors wanted to transfer her to Sienna to be in the cancer unit. She went home to wait for a bed at Sienna. About 3 days later, she went to Sienna and checked into the hospital. I decided that I wanted to be close and so I took an intermitten leave of absence to help my step dad. I got the call around 10a on June 9, 2009 from my step dad. He said that the doctors say if she has family that they need to come. I was very upset. So, I left school and was at the hospital by 11:30a. I stayed by her side for the next few days while she was in the hospital. She was fighting but I could tell she was losing. :( Her last words to me on June 11, 2009 were - "Kelly, I love you." The only thing I could say was I love you back. I had to go to the restroom to hide my tears. I didn't want her to see me upset. The sent her home for home hospice on Friday the 12th. I was able to go visit her Tuesday the 16th. I told her how much I loved her and that it was okay for her to go. At this point, she wasn't able to talk to me. I sat there and held her hand for a few hours. The next day I had to go to school just to try and not think about what was happening to my best friend...my mom. About 6pm on June 17, 2009, my mom left this world to go be with Jesus. I miss her everyday! I never thought that my mom would leave me...I know she didn't have a choice. She was always there for me! ALWAYS! Almost a year later, and I still have tears flowing from my eyes.

I read a poem she wrote to me at her memorial service. She wrote it in a book she gave me a few years ago called "Bad Childhood, Good Life" by Dr. Laura.

Kelly-
I never meant to hurt you
or cause you any pain
If I could, I'd reach out
And take it back again.
...I'd crush your grief and sorrow
And bottle it so tight.
That never would it once again

So, many of you know our struggle to get pregnant. I found out on July 18, 2009, that I was expecting a baby. I couldn't believe it. After all the hurt and pain, did my heart have the strength to go through a pregnancy. Well, obviously with God's strength I was able to have a wonderful baby boy on March 2, 2010. He was due on March 17, 2010. That is exactly 9 months to the day that my mom passed away. I had Jack Andrew at 5:53pm. Which my mom passed at 6pm. Of course, Jack is a go getter and couldn't wait till the 17th....He wanted OUT! They induced me because I was having high blood pressure issues. Want to read more????? Read the post - Jack's Birth!

The foundation of the house was poured on 6/17/08. I think it is kind of like the foundation of our family...GOD....Without the foundation our house wouldn't stand up. I think is the same with our life. We wouldn't be able to stand tall without our foundation...God!

This is the day <05/31/08>we bought our house. We put down the earnest money and so our house was "sold".

I was so excited to place that sticker on our lot.......John was a goofball...YEAH!! Almost homeowners!!!!

There wasn't anything on our lot....just dirt!
